From April 17 till April 19 in the year 2009 in St.Petersburg, Russia, in Sport-concert complex “Peterburgsky” the Third Martial Arts Olympics “East-West Open” will be run.

There are some changes in its program (see chapter “Kinds of competitions”). Because of this changes the schedule of Olympics is also changed. Now team competitions will have place twice. First day, April 17, at evening after budo-show team competition in semi contact karate (IMAC-WKU rules) will be run. At second day, April 18, also at evening, at 8 pm, we are planning to conduct team competitions in full contact free style fighting (adopted version of Mixed Martial Arts). Probably teams from Brazil, Russia & USA will compete in this part of competition. It would be really interesting in case if more countries will challenge named teams.

It is pleasure to inform you that in The Third Martial Arts Olympics “East-West Open” we are looking for near seven thousand participants from more than forty countries. Unfortunately crisis is making some corrections & it is hard to keep the high level of budo-show & competitions but we’ll try to do our best.

Now we start working upon the new internet portal of International Martial Arts Confederation. This organization was created specially for running projects of Martial Arts Olympics in the whole world. You can find information about structure of Confederation, its working plans & also about your possible involvement in this project on this site (see chapter “Documents”). We still will use www.fightingfest.com, www.fightingfest.org & www.fightingfest.ru for some period of time. In the same time, dear colleagues, we want to inform you about addresses of new portal:
